2020-2025 Strategic Plan

The Regional District of Central Okanagan’s Economic Development Commission (COEDC) is developing a 2020 – 2025 Economic Development Strategy. As the region, country and globe continue to grapple with economic challenges, the question is raised as to what the community can do at the regional level from an economic development perspective. The strategy is intended to identify strategic directions that build off existing strengths, as well as identify new and emerging opportunities on which to base the future prosperity of our community. The strategy will also identify key challenges, gaps and barriers, and assess the local asset base, as well as an implementation plan for the COEDC.

The COEDC is engaging the community to solicit input and advice on the overall strategic direction for the economic development strategy. Outreach to the region will occur through one-on-one informational interviews, phone surveys and facilitated workshops conducted by MDB Insight Inc. over the months of May and June 2019.

Business Survey

The COEDC is engaging local businesses directly through the Business Survey open for input from business owners and operators June 24th to July 19th, 2019. By clicking the link you will be re-directed to the survey website to complete the short 10 minute survey.

“Participation from the local businesses and community members is instrumental in developing the 2020 – 2025 Economic Development Strategy. Annually the COEDC programs and initiatives are developed in alignment with the Regional Growth Strategy, municipal economic priorities and local economic research with consultation from the COEDC Advisory Council. The strategic planning process to 2025 is allowing for broader input and we encourage you to contribute your thoughts on the region’s opportunities for economic prosperity.” – Corie Griffiths
