On the heels of the release of a new strategic plan, Moving Forward to 2025, late last fall, the Regional District of Central Okanagan’s Economic Development Commission (COEDC) is pleased expand its COEDC Advisory Council, staff team and resources with the appointment of five new Advisory Council members representing industry, a new COEDC Manager and additional sector specific web resources.

2020 COEDC Advisory Council

The COEDC Advisory Council Executive and 2020 Chair Brad Klassen welcome new Advisory Council members:  

  • Nikki Csek, CEO of Csek Creative, representing the Professional Services and Communications sector
  • Pete Patterson, COO & Co-Founder of Vitalis Extraction Technology Inc, representing the Manufacturing and Technology sector
  • Paula Quinn, Executive Director of the KF Aerospace Centre for Excellence Association, representing the Aerospace sector
  • Brian Wall, CEO at AEM (Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing Corp), representing Aerospace and Manufacturing sector
  • Noel Wentworth, VP Education and Media at Wentworth Music, representing Arts and Culture sector

The 45 member Advisory Council serves as a conduit of information and insight for the COEDC and is made up of industry leaders, elected officials, local government staff and community organizations representing a cross section of industries. New COEDC Manager

The COEDC is expanding its staff team with the appointment of Krista Mallory as COEDC Manager. Krista has served as Business Development Officer with the COEDC since 2016 after a decade of experience in the financial sector and nonprofit sector supporting entrepreneurs throughout BC.

New Web Resources

The Moving Forward to 2025 Strategic Plan identified five Sectors in Focus representing high potential areas for economic growth: Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing, Agriculture & Viticulture, Animation, Film & Digital Media, Health and Information Communications Technology. Along with enhance blog and resource page functionality, COEDC’s website and primary communication channel InvestKelowna.com now features additional information and insight into the sectors. Watch for additional resources including enhanced Labour Market Information in the coming months.
