Starting on May 3, join the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) as we celebrate Safety and Health Week. Sign up for live virtual sessions on workplace wellness, mental health support, pandemic planning, and risk assessments. Let's come together to learn how we can create safer workplaces and communities.

Note that registering for this event gives you access to all of the week’s sessions. Attend one or as many as you like. You have the flexibility to choose which sessions you want to go to.

Safety and Health Week Kick Off

Join the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) as we kick off Safety and Health Week with special guest, Minister of Labour Filomena Tassi. We’ll learn about the impact of workplace tragedies from Shirley Hickman, Executive Director of Threads of Life. Canadian Society of Safety Engineering President Deirdre O’Reilly will bring greetings and the winners of the Focus on Safety Youth Video Contest will be unveiled. Virtually but collectively, we’ll reflect on the importance of working together to create safe and healthy workplaces.

Join the team from Maple Leaf Foods as they share their journey to creating effective employer wellness programs.

Join Raf Bartkow and Peter Neufeld of Maple Leaf Foods as they take us on a journey of the ins-and-outs of building successful employer wellness programs. This 45-minute session will outline how wellness programs are a vital part of the business model, and will provide tips on achieving employer support. Before we wrap up, take part in an engaging Q&A that will help guide you towards building a workplace that prioritizes wellness for everyone.

During trying times like these, calm and clarity is more important than ever. Join us on a guided meditation where we'll take 20 minutes to pause, relax and reflect. Your mind and body will thank you for it.

Join McMaster University staff leaders as they share their learnings on how to keep health and safety a priority post-pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has reminded workplace leaders that health and safety should always be a top priority. Join McMaster University leaders, Dane DeMan (Team Lead, Environmental and Occupational Health Support Services) and Roger Couldrey (Vice-President, Administration) as they share tips and insights on how to keep safety culture and hazard and risk assessments top of mind for organizations in a post-pandemic landscape.
