All elections are important. The Federal election on Monday, September 20th is no exception. In keeping with what the Greater Westside Board of Trade always does before an election, we have invited all registered candidates in the Central Okanagan- Similkameen-Nicola Riding, to speak to our membership and other attendees who are interested.
This year, we're focusing on the Canadian Chamber's "What it takes to Grow - Priorities for the next parliament" as well as diving into the critical issues that impact our growing region including affordable housing, inter-provincial trade, infrastructure investments, global competitiveness, and responding to labour market demands. READ MORE of the Canadian Chamber's Recommendations.

The Greater Westside Board of Trade and the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce are non-partisan organizations and do not endorse any specific political candidates or party.
As a result of the more stringent rules from Elections Canada, the following rules and procedures in place for the Wednesday, September 15 electoral forum.
- Candidates will be provided a set time to introduce themselves at the start (two minutes).
- Questions prepared in advance will be randomly put to Candidates - the first Candidate will be given extra time (two minutes) to respond then other Candidates will also be given a shorter amount of time (one minute) to also respond to that question. With each question, the first candidate to respond will rotate until each candidate has had at least one opportunity to go first. We hope we can have at least two or three rounds of questions as time allows.
- Participants in the forum can send a question but it a) must be sent in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org and b) not be directed to any specific candidate as that will be chosen randomly by the moderator. The Chamber and Board of Trade reserve the right to modify or reject any submitted questions if it is derogatory in nature or is meant to attack or support a particular Candidate or party. All responses will be timed.
- All Candidates will be provided opportunity for concluding remarks at the end. (Two minutes) going in the same order as the start.
There is no cost to join the all-candidates forum via Zoom but pre-registration is required. Those registered to tune in will be provided a link and access code just prior to the forum.
