This 4 part workshop series to designed to prepare you for your next interview with a Canadian employers. As a newcomer to Canada, it can be hard to know the workplace culture and job seeking practices in Canada. Come and learn how you can networking to secure an interview; how to prepare for an interview; how to best perform during an interview; and how to appropriately follow up after an interview to turn that job interview into a job offer.

This workshop is facilitated by Philip Mitchell, HR Manager and Job Developer at KCR Community Resources. He holds CPHR Designation. He has over 25 years experience in recruiting, Human Resources from around the world including Canada, Australia, United States and UK. Philip has a passion for helping others achieve their career goals. He is excited to share with you his experience and expertise in this workshop.

Tuesday Nov. 22, 2022- Building Connections: How to Network in the Canadian Job Market

Networking is such an integral part of the job search routine. It is about building relationships and how we can benefit others. Volunteering is not only good for the community, it also good for you. Volunteering opens up new people and experiences and provides more people to build your network and relationships with. An informational interview is one of the most valuable sources of occupational information. It is a fact-finding discussion where you talk with people already working in a particular role, field, industry, or workplace. Informational interviews also provide a great networking opportunity.

Tuesday Nov. 29th, 2022 - Preparing for a Job Interview with a Canadian Employer

Interviews are not a memory test!

Preparation is key. Build your interviewing confidence by developing your interview strategy. Company and job posting knowledge, common interview styles/questions and how to answer them, and what questions to ask.

Tuesday Dec. 6th, 2022 - Cracking the Interview: What to do during the meeting

Now that you are prepared and the interview time has been set, come and learn how to perform during an interview. You will need to know how to answer the questions you feel confident about and the ones you don't feel as confident. You can learn ways to build rapport and appropriate ways conduct yourself for one on one interview or panel interview?
