Join the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce as we dive into the important issues that are impacting Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley with those who cover them everyday. No fake news here! Our local panel of media celebrities will share with us their top stories from 2018 and we’ll also ask them what’s likely to grab the headlines in 2019.

Wonder what's true (and what isn’t?) Are journalistic standards on the decline? Is free speech dead? We’ll get their opinions on that as well. This is a rare opportunity to see some familiar faces, hear some familiar voices, and get a chance to meet the people behind the local news that matters to you.

Join us for this lively discussion, some insights into the role of the fifth estate, and ask the questions you’ve always wanted to ask your favorite local reporter but never had the chance!

Our distinguised panel of journalists include:

  • Chris Walker, CBC Radio “Daybreak”
  • Wayne Moore, Castanet
  • Kent Molgat, KelownaNow
  • Steve MacNaull, Daily Courier
  • Phil Johnson, “The Early Edition” AM1150
  • Doris Bregolisse, Global TV: anchor, producer
  • Peter Angle, GM, Stingray Radio

About the Moderator

Dan Rogers, Executive Director of the Kelowna Chamber, is no stranger to the media: he’s been on both sides of the microphone. Dan worked for 15 years as a reporter/anchor/producer with CKPG Radio & Television in Prince George, before entering politics and serving fifteen years in local government as both a Councillor and Mayor.

Purchase Deadline: Tickets must be purchased before 4pm on Thursday, May 2, 2019.
