Japan Market Webinar

The Trade Commissioner Service of the Canadian Embassy in Japan is organizing a webinar on the wine, beer and spirits market in Japan for all Canadian companies interested in or looking to expand their presence in the Japan market. The webinar will take place on Tuesday April 9 at 19h30 EST and is part one of a three part market development initiative to support Canadian businesses looking for representation and/or expand sales in the Japanese market.

The agenda for the webinar is as follows:

19:30-19:35: Introduction from the Embassy of Canada and Trade Commissioner Service

19:35-20:05: Presentation by the Japan Wine and Spirits Association

  • Japan Wine, Beer and Spirits markets – production, consumption and import data
  • Market structure – sales channels, emerging consumer trends (ex. organic wines, non-alcoholic beverages)
  • How to find a Japanese importer/partner
  • Technical import procedures and regulations

20:05-20:20: Presentation by the Japan Wine Challenge

  • What Japanese companies and consumers are looking for
  • How to do business with Japanese companies
  • How to market to Japanese consumers and build your brand
  • Japan Wine Challenge

20:20 onwards: Q&A

Following the webinar, companies with capacity and interest in the Japan market will be invited to submit a short profile form and samples in early May that will be sent as a diplomatic shipment to the Embassy in Japan from our Vancouver warehouse. The samples will be featured at a tasting event at the Embassy in Tokyo on June 19, that will target importers, distributors, buyers and sommeliers (Canadian companies can attend in person or simply send product). Phase three of this initiative will conclude with B2B meetings between interested Japanese companies and Canadian companies in July.
