Startups and Small Business

In 2016, the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses rated the Kelowna region as the #1 Most Entrepreneurial City in Canada. With a vibrant startup community, strong support for entrepreneurs and competitive costs, it is no wonder Kelowna and the Central Okanagan took the top spot.

Named the most enterprising region in Canada in 2016 by the Financial Post the region is home to 28,000 registered businesses. The Central Okanagan's entrepreneurial culture and strong support networks make it an ideal place to start and grow a business as over 8,600 (30.6%) of local businesses have employees.
